Not defending or recommending kompozer (I primarily use 'Composer' in
SeaMonkey for the little I do) just pointing out that there has been
movement on kompozer recently with regards to your:

That said, even Kompozer is now stagnating like Nvu did. It's
latest release appear to be 18 months old...

I downloaded and brought up 0.8a1 without any problems. I also have the
repo 7.10 installed - it works also.

If you're smug enough to ignore the links provided and not bother to at
least have a look at them, then what can I say? It's easy enough to
download 0.8a1 and try it... if the OP likes it then fine. If he
doesn't, then it's no big deal.

For 'The Gamer's...': if you want to try, just download the
kompozer-20090206.tar.gz from the links I've provided. Open Nautilus,
double-click the .gz and let it extract to a kompozer subfolder. Use
Nautilus to go to the kompozer and then just double-click on the
kompozer (shell) file and it will instantly bring up kompozer 0.8a1.
That's it. You can test it, use it, reinstall it someplace else, or
simply delete the .gz and the kompozer folder and forget about it. No
big deal, not Win registry to clean out, nothing. If you like it, check
out the
