No more sound after second X server

When I start a second KDE session the sound is always set to the last 
settings I had when I was logged in with that second user. Now when I 
logout as the second user the sound isn't restored. I think the new 
settings will even be saved for the first user as default values. Now if 
the sound settings for the second user were e.g. muted it would mean that 
sound is muted for both users after a reboot. So I think you should find 
out if all sound controls are at appropriate gain and the channels aren't 
muted. This should be done with both users logged in.
