8GB memory not being seen in 64 bit ubuntu

I have the same issue. It seems the motherboard doesn't support more
that 3.2 G and if not then i have been told that the rest of the
memory has been reseved by video memory which I have
nt seen any solution yet. I am using 3.2G only.. damn :(
