8GB memory not being seen in 64 bit ubuntu

I have 8GB installed in my machine. It sees it on boot and post shows 8192. I
have the 64bit kernel installed but ubuntu only recognizes 3.2GB.

Memory: 3.2 GiB

Any help to enable the full 8gb would be appreciated
