Hello again NoOp,

Hereafter the output you asked for:

jean at QIPSG01:~$ locale
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC=nl_BE.UTF-8
LC_TIME=nl_BE.UTF-8
LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NAME=nl_BE.UTF-8
LC_ADDRESS=nl_BE.UTF-8
LC_TELEPHONE=nl_BE.UTF-8
LC_MEASUREMENT=nl_BE.UTF-8
LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=

(I modified all the lines which include 'nl_BE.UTF-8')

The '/etc/environment' file looks now as follows:

PATH="/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games"
LANGUAGE="en_US:en"
LANG="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="nl_BE.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="nl_BE.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="nl_BE.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="nl_BE.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="nl_BE.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="nl_BE.UTF-8"

I suppose I'll have to correct the LC_MONETARY too, but till now I think
the local program correction to Euro is working.
My purpose was mainly to obtain a correct date in the Evolution, Contact
and Calender menus.

In European notation, it is very confusing to see the input of a
birthday (ex: 19-07-1969) rejected and stored as 12/07/1969.

The only US Date notation left is in the Top Panel, still announcing
'za feb 14, 23:01'
But this is not interfering with my work.

Jean
