Well, define "typical office use".

I disagree, at least for what I call business usage.
For me "business usage" means 8-12 hours in front of your screen, 5 to 7 
days a week, each minute straining your eyes, whether you are aware of 
it or not.

For this type of usage I would never accept myself nor ask anybody else 
to accept an analogue LCD connection.

The occasional home user might eventually go without digital although 
"Fonts look sharper" (cite from Justin) might be worthwhile for home 
usage, as well.;-)

Moreover DVI (and successors) have been around for years, now. Imho 
there is absolutely no reason not to use them, and this applies to any 
kind of usage pattern.

But: this is my personal experience and surely experiences will differ.
