     Can you tell us exactly when this error occurs (for example, does
it occur during boot, or while using some application?)
     Just off the top of my head, it sounds like a GRUB error. You can
correct me if I'm wrong, but I will attempt to address that error just
in case that's the problem.

    Could you please post a link to the guide to which you refer, in
order to prevent confusion? I suspect that it may refer to the earlier
version of grub instead of grub2 which 9.10 uses by default.

    It seems pretty straightforward, as it just tells you to type some
commands from a terminal in a liveCD session. If you need further
explanation, I'll be happy to answer any specific questions you may
have.
