Installing TeX Live 2009 on 9.10

I don't know which archive file you have downloaded. An archive only
containing two folders but no installation scripts sounds a little
bit strange. There are several ways for obtaining TeXLive 2009
described here: http://www.tug.org/texlive/acquire.html.
Installation is quite easy:
http://www.tug.org/texlive/quickinstall.html. But be aware of a
stumbling block: TeXLive provides the file install-info and Ubuntu
installs a file with the same name. You have to deactivate TeXLive's
install-info (chmod -x /path/to/TL's install-info) for dpkg to work
properly.
