Help. Places >> Connect to Server

I just returned from vacation and restarted my systems.  On one of them 
running Ubuntu 9.10, the Places >> connect to server no longer works as 
it did before I shut it down.

When I go to Places >> connect to server, I am given only one option 
where the dropdown box should offer several.  I am used to choosing "ssh" 
as my option; now the only option I am given is "custom location". I've 
not made any changes to the system or performed an upgrade. A second 
system running 9.10 works as it's supposed to.

How can I restore all the options under service type in the Connect to 
Server option?
