I was just using Jedit as a specific example of me trying and failing to
do something with files. If I open one of the mode files I mentioned
above Jedit will not let me make any changes to it. Gedit will let me
change it but will not then let me save it. I assume this all has
something to do with file permissins.
This is a single user system and I am just trying to learn how to work
with files.
Thanks, Jim
