Compiz cube - ONE cube in sight

it is my understanding that the "inner" cube setting actually switches
the perspective from outside of the cube to inside of the cube. this
isn't a second cube that you will see. as to your new issue, i am not
sure. You could check under Place Windows and make sure Smart is
selected.
