Windows frame were lost

Hi there,

After an unintentional operation I did I think with the panel I lost 
both the lower panel and every window's frame I had. Operations such as 
reboot and removal of ~/.gnome2 didn't help.
I don't know where the log file is and which command does the frames.
Any idea?
