THANKS Steve!

I had found the settings in the docs for the Acer X223W. But was not
exactly sure how to put them in the the configuration file.

My final settings are as follows:...

          Driver "tdfx"
          BusID "PCI:1:0:0"
EndSection

Section "Monitor"
          Identifier "Acer X223W"
          VendorName "Acer Inc."
          ModelName "X223W"
          Option "DPMS"
	 HorizSync 30-82
          VertRefresh 56-76
EndSection

Section "Screen"
          Identifier "Default Screen"
Device "3Dfx Interactive, Inc. Voodoo 3"
          Monitor "Acer X223W"
          DefaultDepth 24
          SubSection "Display"
...
   		Depth 24
                 Modes "1680x1050" "1280x1024" "1152x864"
"1024x768" "832x624" "800x600" "720x400" "640x480"
          EndSubSection
EndSection
