Hi Kate,

I don't know which command you are using, but the ideal command to untar the
above file would be :
$ tar jxvf  gnome-format-0.1.1.tar.bz2

If you are still getting the bad command error, it's probably because the
file was not copied/downloaded properly.

Try downloading it one more time.
