a minute later and nothing new.  It is now 3 or 4 minutes after that stamp.

It has worked in this system all long - used it regularly under
windows.  And as mentioned, this very same card worked under Ubuntu
Live CD

I should probably boot the LIve CD right now and check again.   MIght do that.
