Flame note to NoOp only: The new latest and greates gdm upgrade is now installed on both Karmic partitions and have rebooted each a couple of time without any low res issues. So it looks like Ubuntu has finally fixed that crappy gdm hog so it doesn't interfere with that nice kdm display manager. You know the nice pretty one with all the good desktop themes and nice display manager themes. The one you couldn't find; remember. And No, I will not use gdm ever but gnome desktop occasionally just to try to see what so intrigues you. Just a little-:o))
