Can't mount external USB HDD drive :(

Hi all! Can someone help with such a problem ...

When i plug in my usb drive /dev/sdc1 is not generated at all!
Only /dev/sdc :(
This device works ok in 9.04. Everything ok with my kingston usb flash 4
Gb stick. 
	Also should notice that i had to install from alternate, cause desktop
installer didn't see my Seagate 320Gb sata drive(not usb, internal
drive)
