That's my plan too, along with the DSL tab in the NM applet...

MLy dad just rpelied to me. His modem is an : "Alcatel Speed Touch Home
POTS".

I found the user manual courtesy of Google, 104 pages, but there is way
too much networking jargon for me to know what to do ! Way too
complicated... my curretn (cable not ADSL) modem doesn't reuqire any
configuration, didn't come with a user manual, it "jsut works"... so in
comparison, the user manual of this kinda scares the hell out of
me ! ;-/

My dad says he has two other modems to try.. maybe one of them is
simpler to use/configure/understand...
