problems with grub and password

For that, it means your splash image isnt being found/read correctly for
some reason. Check and make sure the splash image is still in the same
place, and that it's not corrupted. If that doesn't help, remove the
splash image reference from your menu.lst file (i.e. just comment it
out) then reboot and see if that helps.

your password as in your login password, or your password to get into
grub? What websites did you follow directions from (links are best)?
This question should probably be sent as a separate issue if it's not
related to grub (i.e. not a grub password) so that somebody with more
knowledge on this will see it and respond (not just see the 'grub'
keyword and skip over it)
