jaunty slow on laptop

Didn't try system monitor or top because tracker's indexing never dawned
on me. Did check dmesg and syslog however with no results.
Decided to load Hardy as a trial, and it does fly. Just like Jaunty
should.
I'll probably give Jaunty another shot and see what I can find.
