flash stopped working after update?!

Now here's a thing!

I did the first of the above steps, the second failed, BUT when I go, as
suggested, to

I see what looks very much like working flash. What exactly should I see
there if flash is working?

Nope - there is NO flashplugin installed - that I can see in
alternatives, anyway.

But about:plugins shows exactly what you expected:

- except it is 10.0 r22

Now I am really confused.
