Since this was such a new install I just decided to reinstall the OS
again so I can get moving.

I just started the pc from that boot and this is what is in the xorg file:

Section "Monitor"
  Identifier "Configured Monitor"
EndSection

Section "Screen"
  Identifier "Default Screen"
  Monitor "Configured Monitor"
  Device "Configured Video Device"
  DefaultDepth 24
EndSection

Section "Module"
  Load "glk"
EndSection

Section "Device"
  Identifier "Configured Video Device"
  Driver "fglrx"
EndSection
