You can use "sudo ifconfig eth0" to change you eth0 setup but I can't tell you how so read the manual ifconfig. Many people have issues with NM and it's been said also with wicd but wicd has always worked for me. If you are game and want to try wicd then install it. It will remove NM and in most cases you will already be on line without any setup as it did for me. Never heard of LinkAggregation and didn't look it up so can't comment there. Make sure your nameserver in /etc/resolv.conf is listed correctly as you ISP gave it to you.
