In partitioning the hard drive before making your dual-boot system, did
you resize the Windows partition or simply let Ubuntu install in the
free space? Usually you have little or no free space for Ubuntu unless
you first resize the Windows partition to the amount of space you think
you'll need for Windows so you can then use the larger amount of free
space for Ubuntu. The installer usually gives you the option to resize
the existing partition before you begin the installation unless you
select the option to use the free space to create the Ubuntu partition.
