In partitioning the hard drive before making your dual-boot system, did 
you resize the Windows partition or simply let Ubuntu install in the 
free space? Usually you have little or no free space for Ubuntu unless 
you first resize the Windows partition to the amount of space you think 
you'll need for Windows so you can then use the larger amount of free 
space for Ubuntu. The installer usually gives you the option to resize 
the existing partition before you begin the installation unless you 
select the option to use the free space to create the Ubuntu partition.
