You can try with "safe-mode", it is a generic (VESA) driver that works
with almost every video chip for PC (it is a BIOS standard or something
like that). Althought, you can't use video acceleration (openGL, desktop
effects, heavy games) with it. To use it, in the Jaunty live CD, the try-
install-check cd menu, do: F4 -> safe-mode, and whatever (try, install,
check).
It works for me with a via chipset that is poorly supported.
