Problem post Ubuntu 9.04 upgrade when extra visual effects is enabled

I recently ugraded to Ububtu 9.04 , I have enabled the extra visual
effects on my laptop. When I start Netbeans editor for Java it does not
show me any menus or code, the UI is just blank. When I disable and
enable the visual effects things work fine. Any idea what could be the
issue. I have attached laptop information for your reference.
