Once well adjusted, Skype works.
Had it with 8.04 i386 - 8.10 i386 - 8.10 AMD64 - 9.04 AMD64
For 64 systems, requires a tweak to get rid of the green video,
roughly explained at:
http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-972965.html
and a preload at the command line:
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib32/libv4l/v4l1compat.so /usr/bin/skype
(and a prayer to get Pulseaudio working)
