Allen, making mistakes and learning to correct them is one of the ways
many of us learned this stuff. You set a good example by owning your
mistakes and correcting them.
And, as with almost any problem, there are more cases of the problem than
questions about it, by discussing it we also give the answers to the
people who don't ask the questions but learn from lurking and reading. The
body of general knowledge of the "community" increases and so does the
number of people who have the answer the next time the question comes
up, making it more likely people coming here for help will get good help
on a timely basis. I know from our previous discussions that there are
already several potential questions which you could give an acceptable,
useful, answer for next time someone asks. Knowledge is something to be
freely shared and, by doing so publicly, we "pass it along" because "we"
will not be here forever.
