Actually, ignore my advice. I mistakenly believed GE 5.0 was available for Intrepid from the medibuntu repos, it is not, only Jaunty. If you don't suffer from obviously bad fonts then don't worry about it. It might have been a medibuntu only issue. You can see the changelog here.[2] And the relevant bug report here.[3] But again only for Jaunty.
