Mike,
this sounds good.
Just to be clear, generally you will not loose data by resizing your
partitions, even if they are _heavily fragmented_. Qtparted and similar
programms can handle this. It will just take much longer and will be
more risky imho.
Anyway, good luck and just be sure to let us know how it will work!
