3ware Hardware RAID and Hibernate prob

Hello all,


I'm having some strange issue that I don't know how to deal with.

My PC has a PCI-E 3ware Hardware RAID card on it with 2 x SATA drives on it.
I have configured a RAID-1 mirror and the StorSave profile based on 
Performance. (I didn't chose Protection because my home PC is connected 
to an UPS..in case of power failures).

If I shutdown my PC (running Ubuntu 8.10 with linux-server 2.6.27-11 
image) everything is OK.

If I get it into hibernate..then after resuming operation my RAID-1 
setup has to resync and it takes a while to get back into shape.
Can this be avoided ? or how can I workaround hibernation tearing down 
my hdd sync for the RAID-1 ?
