G'day there Ken,
Not sure what exactly you are saying. If your saying that update manager updates all desktop versions for a dist-(full)upgrade then I understand(know) that. Of course any packagee manager does this.
If you are saying that synaptic, adept doesn't do that which I think is not the case then I'm confused. I've used them both and they upgrade both kde and gnome.
My real question is "Does not synaptic or adept do version upgrades as well as update-manager handling all the dependencies adequately". Most or many people at least recommend using synaptic for upgrading as it's supposed to handle dependencies well. Is there any package manager that does just as well as update-manager is the question?
