No Terminal

And see if you actually have gnome-terminal installed. You can use
Synaptic for this: System|Administration|Synaptic...|Search|gnome-terminal
Even if it does show it as installed, you can completely remove it and
then reinstall it from Synaptic.

Also check to see if perhaps the Applications menu got screwed up: right
-click Applications then Edit Menus. Go to Accessories and right click
on Terminal and select Properties. The command there should say
"gnome-terminal".
