I still haven't succeeded getting mencoder to actually do anything
useful, but I used luvcview to check the available modes for the
camera, and it seems that the highest definition available (with the
current drivers that is) is 640x480. The funny thing is that after
using luvcview I can actually get cheese to run in a decent amount of
frames-per-second.

So now I am wondering if I should return this camera or not, does
anyone knows of a low-cost camera that has Linux support for a
resolution above 640x480?

BTW, thanks a lot for the previous emails!

Cheers,
