Atheros wireless card not seen in Network Manager

I've had a similar issue with my Acer Aspire 4520 which has the SAME 
wifi card.  Ubuntu installs the drivers during the install process.  
They show up in the Hardware Drivers Manager with the status that they 
are installed and In Use, yet no wifi device is detected by the Network 
Manager.

I believe there has been but I don't know if its been released into the 
Ubuntu repos yet.
