There are many ways to print from Ubuntu to a Windows printer queue.

Can you tell us how your printer is set up?

Are you using lpd (Remote LPD queue), smb (Windows shared Printer), ipp, or
what?

Is it set up to send RAW format, Postscript, or something else?

Personally, I have had the best performance with using lpd over smb.
