Ubuntu sources problems

That was the first thing that I tried by opening the update manager. It
doesn't work (Authentificating the upgrade failed. There may be a problem
with the network or with the server) If 6.10 is not supported anymore that
could be why.
That is why I wanted to change the sources. I was thinking that this way I
would be able to upgrade to 7.04, then 7.10, then 8.04.
Right now I am trying to downloads 7.10 to burn it on dvd. If that works,
I'll update to 8.04 from here.
If there is a way to change the sources and then upgrade that could be
faster that is why I wanted to try but I don't know exactly how.
