Ubuntu sources problems

Hi,
I am trying to install Ubuntu on my son's computer. Everything went fine
except that I can't update since I seem to have a problem with the address
of the sources. Security and regular updates don't work. Would it be
possible to remove the sources I have (from a 6.10 dvd) and specify 7.10
sources? If it is how can I find the address of the sources?
I have in the idea of deleting the actual sources and adding new ones but I
have no idea how to find the new ones?
