Operation not supported by backend, obex

I can't drag and drop files to my mobile anymore.  I am using Ubuntu 
8.04.  It worked before the upgrade.

This has been noted on the Ubuntu Forum:

but no one has responded with any ideas.

Is there a workaround?  Or is it not broken but somehow misconfigured?

Can anyone help?
