Java removed in Intrepid?

OK. Cheers. I will remove and reinstall and see what happens. I had a
few other very odd things happen with the upgrade. The worst was that
the kernel was not the proper one for some odd reason. It caused a
number of problems - no sound, no video, no printing.... After some
searching I found a few other people in the same situation who
discovered that the kernel was a version behind so linking wouldn't
work for a number of drivers. I just checked and I have some very
strange messages being thrown up when I try to compile with gcc as
well, so perhaps there is still something amiss. I am in Japan and
found in the past that sometimes the local mirror is a bit behind, or
some packages are a bit behind when I update. Perhaps that is the only
problem
