Difficult in installing Drivers with new Ubuntu 8.10

Hi, could you tell us which Nvidia hardware you have and which driver
version it used in 8.04 and, if you still have that, on the upgraded
installation? I'm asking because the proprietary drivers that are in
8.10 dropped support for some cards.

It is possible that the problem did not show up in the upgraded machine
because it might have continued to use the old driver. I have no nvidia
hardware to verify this, though, it's just a guess at this point.
