Hmm, I don't know what you were compiling that took that long. ;-)
I think the CoCo may have had a slow disk interface.

Ah yes the good old days, not sure why they were so good but they
were interesting. I'm much happier with Linux than my old 3B1 or
3B2.

I think is correct, the CoCo 2 was a 6809 processor that OS9 ran
on. I used a Gimix Ghost that ran OS9 Level II, which the CoCo
2 could run also. The older CoCo only ran Level I.
