You are doing everything wrong it seems. Easy to do :-)
Using your wubi cd start to load Ubuntu and it will ask which drive
to use and you tell it "C". It will load a few things and then ask you
to reboot. When the login window comes up select the Ubuntu tab. It will
now load a lot of software and finish.
Now and forever you start Windows and instead select Ubuntu and your
finished. If this works your ready to try Ubuntu.
