How to do Back Porting in Ubuntu LTS 8.04?

Hello Friends,

I have installed ubuntu before 1 week and at that time my wireless
network card was working fine.
After that I took the available update and now my wireless network
card is not working on my laptop.

I would like to Back Port the changes done by update on the Fresh installation.
Just like the Subversion we can replace the code from the Old Version.

The details of my wireless device is :- Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
