Actually KDE software can run on a system with Gnome and Gnome software
can run on a system with KDE. They're just Window Managers that provide
an interface to X.org which is the important underlying part needed to
run that program you're wanting to use. I have Kubuntu and I have stuff
that's supposed to be for Gnome installed and they work just fine.
