ubuntu hangs up

1. What do you see on your screen:
The screen do not change. it is freeze

   2. What does your keyboard do?

My keyboard appears dead.  I did not try Ctrl-Alt-F1.

   3. What does your mouse do?

My mouse appears to not work at all.

   4. How do you fix the hang up?

I turn off my computer and then back up.
