Problem loading from CD

Hello,

 

I am new to Linux and I am very excited to start using it. I downloaded the system from this site and burned it to a CD. It appears to work correctly. I have a Duracom computer, which had XP on it. I have re-formatted the hard drive and set the computer up to boot from CD. I then inserted the disk that I created into the hard drive and started the computer. The computer came up and stated that it was booting from CD, it began to boot, and now is stuck at loading. I am figure that I must have done something wrong, but I am unsure where my mistake is. Can you please point me in the right direction? Also, if this is not enough information, please let me know.
