One way to tell FX which program to use would be to edit (or create)
~/.mailcap . Read "man mailcap" for more information. I'm sure that
there are more ways to configure FX to launch certain programs for
certain types, e.g. editing values on the gconf database (gconf-editor);
however, mailcap is probably easier and better documented.
Also visit http://kb.mozillazine.org/ for more tips on how to configure
Firefox.
