No, of course not :-) Broadcom 43xx is the standard cheap wifi adapter, and
he doesnt have the latest (or possibly any) firmware for it. Turning off
the hardware switch for the wifi would probably stop those.
If you installed hardy, you need b43-fwcutter. If you installed gutsy, you
may need bcm43xx-fwcutter instead.
I'd get the X problem fixed first, and for that we need to see the X output,
not a message asking if you want to see the X output...
