Hey Gary, If you read my post jsut now, you know that I had a very successful intrepid desktop fresh install, no problem at all, fully updated, only some complaining on my part about how difficult it is to get all I had going on Hardy done in Intrepid.
Even though I'm on a desktop, I'll be glad to compare notes with you on what kde programs I have installed compared to yours or anything else for that matter. If you like we can do this off-list and report back with any joy.  Or else, get you a Gateway 5656GT with Nvidia MB and it will solve all your problems-:)) Let me know if I can be of service.
